Finally!

Happy Easter yall! Well I finally washed my hair this morning. And it felt great! I used my favorite shampoo, which is the Dark & Lovely Peppermint Shampoo. I also decided to mix it up and do a second lather with my daughters Herbal Essences Totally Twisted shampoo for curls and waves.

I read somewhere that its good to changed your products every few months to cut down on build up.

I decided to braid my hair so I can get some crinkles. And pined it to the side for Easter dinner.

  1. Looks very lovely!!! Did you retwist the roots?

  2. Yes, I re-twisted the roots and braided about six loc's at a time. I love the crinkle look (after you take the braids down). My hair feels lighter when its wavy or curly.

  3. Your side braids look marvelous! I was wondering about both shampoos and whether or not they worked well? How do you like them both?

  5. Hey Dewdrop.. Thank you for the kind words! I love the combination of the two shampoo's together. I think using one is great, but I seem to notice that my hair is softer, looks rich, shiny and looks healthier if I mix it up and use two shampoo's. I do think at some point, I am going to try a whole new product line to give my hair a boost all together. But as now, I really like the Dark & Lovely Peppermint Shampoo and Herbal Essences Totally Twisted shampoo shampoo mix. I usually start with Herbal Essences, do a quick wash and them do a second lather/wash with the Dark and Lovely Shampoo. I mainly use Dark and Lovely last, because I love the peppermint smell.

  6. Karen,

I purchased H.E.-T.T. (couldn't fine D&L.P.) and i'm going to try it this evening after my work out. You are right about avoiding product build up by changing your shampoo every now and then. I've been using the same one (Selsun Blue) for ever due to my scalp condition, but i'd like to change things up a bit and hopefully my scalp will tolerate this change. I'll share my results.

  7. Cool Dewdrop! I have only been able to find the Dark & Lovely Peppermint shampoo at ethnic beauty supply stores. I have never seen it at a walgreen's or longs. So I usually have to go out of my way to find it, or order it online. But its worth it. Let me know how it goes with the Herbal Essence Shampoo.

  8. Ok, so I tried the H.E. Shampoo and I as much as I enjoy how well it washes my scalp, I don't think I can use it regularly because my scalp almost feels dried out. I guess that it acts as a clarifying shampoo on my hair more than anything else, so I probably won't use it as often. Oh well, at least I tried it.

  9. Thank you for the feedback DewDrop! Now that you mention it, my scalp has been kind of dry. But I really do enjoy the softness of how my hair feels after using H.E. I may have to only use it once in a while too. Thank you for the heads up! I guess I have been so busy with life changes, that I did not connect that my dry scalp could have been related to a new shampoo...
