Scarves and wraps!

So if you read my previous post - my hair was looking a "hot mess" for about 2 weeks. Which is a big deal, because I don't like to walk around not feeling by best. Any how... I ended up having to be creative with wrapping my hair to cover it up. Here are a few of my favorite looks.

These two (blue an orange), above and below are some of my favorite scarves/head wraps. If you are able to find this crinkle material, it is good for using as a wrap. It's easy to tie, breaths, and is not to hot and is comfortable. So its good for hot or cold days.

Braid bun with a quick scarf wrap.

I got a cool little texture after wearing the braid bun for one day and taking it down. I didn't add any water or product before braiding it. If you want the texture to last longer use a setting spray before braiding.

I love scarves and wraps. At the moment I have a small addiction to finding new ones. If you know of some cool places to find cute head wraps or scarves, leave a comment.

  1. Love your site. Thanks for sharing. Your hair seems to be about the same length as mine but I can't get a full bun with all my hair yet. You inspire me that one day I will be able to do it!! :-)

  2. Hi Christy,

So glad you are enjoying my blog. I was really unsure of myself for a while when it came to trying to make a bun. It has only been about a year since I have actually started to try out different bun styles.

The best advice I can give, is to start your pony tail in two parts. The first one is going to be mainly made up of the back and middle section of your loc's, put together in one ponytail. Then you add the front of you hair to the pony tail, with a second hair band. This will help to get some height and to keep you hair from hurting - because it will cut down on the weight of you hair which would cause pain from the loc's being to tight and pulling at your scalp. After you have your pony tail together, you can try taking sections of your locs, twisting it and then tucking it into the pony tail holder. Keep twisting sections and either tucking them into the pony tail holder or tuck them under you twisted locks. Keep going until all your you hair is twisted and tucked into the bun.

I hope this helps! I can attach a video from one of my favorite you tube users (who has long loc's) if needed.

  4. I do love these colors. I don't have a very colorful wardrobe, so I am trying to make an effort to wear my more vibrant shades when ever I can.
