Dry skin has always been a big issue for me. I am always struggling to find the right moisturizer for my face and lotion for my body. What do you use? Let us know what products you would recommend and have been heaven sent for you?
I too have struggled with dry skin and tried a huge range of commercial products, mainly butters and thick creams for my body in the past - I now realise that simple is best ... I LOVE natural oils!
I use sweet almond oil which is widely used in aromatherapy and has many skin benefits. My body loves it! I put it in a spray bottle and when I get out of the shower, I gently tap my body dry (still leaving the skin damp) and then I spritz my body with the sweet almond oil. A little goes a long way and I massage it in. My skin just seems to soak it up (it doesn't leave an oily feeling) and it doesn't really have a scent, so it won't clash with any perfumes I use. I also have another spray bottle of this oil with a few drops of essential oil and keep that as a light perfume moisturiser. Great for hair too.
For my face, I like to do a Self massage every night with coconut oil, sweet almond oil or argan oil. So when I wake, my skin feels so soft! Then I keep my day facial moisturiser light, maybe a 1-3 drops of argan oil massaged in, before applying makeup etc.
Just wanted to share, have a blessed day!

Dry skin brushing - Use a natural bristle brush. This helps with circulation and it exfoliates the skin allowing your lotions to absorb and retain moisture. Do it before showering or at night before bed.
Shea Butter - Mix it with a highly moisturizing and emoillent oil. Apply on damp skin.
Cut out those really hot baths and showers. They feel good but it dries the skin out.
Although I believe Raw Shea Butter to be the best and most natural, I do not like the smell. Perhaps I should just add some essential oils to it and that would help. As it stands, for years I've been using The Body Shop's Cocoa Butter Body Butter and it is pure heaven for my extremely dry skin. I would love a natural version of that. How can I make natural shea butter smell like cocoa butter?
Also a friend of mine uses every day olive oil on her skin when she gets out of the shower and she says it works great!
Plain old olive oil has saved my dry skin since I was 16. Sometimes I will mix it up with some Shea Butter and Coconut Oil. Head to toe my skin is olive oil smoooth.
I've been using Etude House Moisturizing BB Magic Cream with Sun Protection. It is great for people with less blemishes and want natural glow to their face.
Shea butter protects the skin from both environmental and free-radical damage. It contains vitamins A and E, and has demonstrated both antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Shea butter, also known as karite butter, is a cream-colored fatty substance made from the nuts of karite nut trees.

I use 100% african shea butter. I use it all over, including my face. This winter has been so drying that Shea Butter has been a true blessing.
