Suggestions??

What would you like to see on this blog? I would love to hear some feedback from you all. If there is something you would like to learn more about, leave a comment. If there is a subject, hair style, product or any thing else that you want to see - let me know. One of the previous suggestions was more styling videos for people with shorter loc's, coils and afro's. So that is something I am working on. Readers contribution is also a big goal of mines. It actually makes the experience of being a part of the Natural hair community that much greater for me because there is a constant interaction where I am learning from you. So if you have comments, suggestions, questions, stories, art... or more, that you want to sure on this blog - please do not hesitate to email me at naturalhairbeauty@gmail.com. Or you can leave a comment on this post or leave a comment on the NBH Guestbook.

  2. Wow...this blog is pretty great, so I'm kind of having a hard time thinking about what it is I'd like to see more of....I'd been waiting around to see others' suggestions, but since it looks like people aren't ready to comment yet, I figured I'd quit lurking and dive in:

As a newbie to the loc'd world I get the most benefit from reading about other people's progress. Tips for styling, etc. are great - but it's really being able to look through other people's journeys, listening to their kvetching, that helps me feel better about what my own hair is doing. I guess the feeling that "Hey...this is...normal..." is more of what I'm looking for.

I've been trying to capture my own journey on my own blog - (My mommy says I'm a great writer, you should check it out! :-p) - but I really love checking in with others just to make sure...I guess, really, just for some affirmation.

I'm also kind of a political junkie...but other than my consideration of wearing my hair naturally as a political statement of some sort (I don't know WHAT sort, but I'm sure it's saying...something!) I'm sure that the latter fact is neither here nor there.

    Thanks for all you do!

  3. I would like to see more pictures of locked styles or other natural styles in general. I am transitioning with kinky twists so I like to style my hair like some of the locked styles on your site. But so far your site is excellent.

  4. Email comment from Kelly:

"Karen I would like to talk more about the racism and negative comments other natural hair people give each other. Its ok to be natural if you have soft managable curly hair "good hair" but if it is thick and course you are not told you have beautiful hair or "good hair". Most of American men and women still think like this. Why after all this time is there a such thing as good hair and why do people of color still feel this way? Also its ok to have neat small dredlocks but if your locks are big and messy and freeform people assume you are homeless, poor uneducated and ugly. Afros and fades on most women are considered hard manly and rough 70"s looking. Don't get me wrong I love all types of natural hair but you really have to have high self esteem to not care when people call you ugly because of your hair."
