  1. It is important to reach out to children in need because any one of us could have been or could be in a similar situation. We can't take anything for granted and it is up to us who have more advantages to bless others. Those children are the future and helping them will give everyone a brighter future since we all live in this world together.

  2. Why is it important to reach out to children in need? Because you can't count assume that someone else is going to do it. Everyone knows that there are children in need in the USA and around the world. But if we all assume that someone else is taking care of it... then NO ONE takes care of these children. There isn't enough being done for these children if there are un-adopted children in US foster care, 127 million orphans worldwide, children living on the street peddling or enslaved. We all have to do our part. There are so many ways to get involved. Become a CASA for your county, sponsor a child in another country, become a foster parent, adopt, or find your own special niche. Just get out there and do something for the children! You'll find yourself being as rewarded as they are.

  3. Katie, your art is beautiful. We are also in the process of adopting our daughter from Ethiopia. Such a beautiful country and people. I agree with Reese's comment above - it's up to us to bless others - we've been given much. Two Bible verses have always stood out in our minds in regards to caring for children...

James 1:27 - "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Proverbs 24:12 - "Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows what we know, and holds us responsible to act."

    Blessings on your adoption journey!

  4. Children in need are many times helpless victims. It could be the result of the circumstances of the enviornmnet in which they were born or worse, because of the decisions of the adults in their lives. Whatever the reason it is important to reach out to these children to try and change their unfortunate circumstances. It has been often said that children are our future. This includes Children in need. In order to help future generations we need to change the future of these children and enable them the education, and hope they do not now possess. The best way to give them hope is to show them they are of worth and important. We can show love and understanding and show them the things they can accomplish with the proper tools and determination.
Not only should we do all we can to help these underpriveliged kids because it will build a stronger future for us all, but we have been commanded by our Lord to help those in need. Jesus loved the little children so we should follow his example and love them too. Children show such unconditional love that we as adults all need to learn from. This is why Jesus Said "Except ye be converted and become as little children,ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven"(Matt 18:3)

  5. Helping a child in need changed my heart. I would say I started the adoption of my 4 year old African cutie to change her life, but in reality my life has been blessed abundantly! What a gift she is to me!
On another note, I LOVE to try new hair styles and figure out how to care for her cork screw curls!

  6. Email Entry from Kenya -

I feel it is important to reach out to children in need because it is important for every child to feel loved and cherished. They are individuals too and they have feelings. How a young person is treated and cared for when small can really shape and mold them into the adults that they become. What is so great about reaching out to help a child in need is that the joy is mutual and can last a lifetime.

    Thank you, Kenya
