Hello all! I received an email from a reader by the name of Christy. She is obsessed with picking out the lint in her loc's, with is causing major damage, including thinning of her loc's. Below is picture of two of her loc's, one healthy and one thinned out because of constantly being picked at.
I have a few suggestions from previous post (link fix & repairing broken loc's - which can also be used to fix thin loc's). Leave a comment for Christy if you also have advice on what she can do to repair thinning loc's. What have been your quick or not so quick fixes?
Any tips on combatting my OCD related to lint picking will be helpful as well! Thanks Karen!
ReplyDeletecombine the locs...
ReplyDeleteChescalocs on youtube takes a sharpie and colors the lint in her locs with no problems. Plus she uses dark towels on her hair. & I guess if dark towels helps then maybe dark sheets and pillow cases.
ReplyDeleteDon't kill your beautiful hair lol!
I've tried the markers on my locs and it works...for awhile...then the color fades and I'm able to still tell that there is lint there. I tell ya, I'm obsessed. But I've never tried Karen's suggestion using the needle and extra hair or the one about using dark towels and sheets.... I'm definitely going to try now though. As for combining...the loc is thinned at the bottom and not throughouht...I don't know if I'm ready to transition to thicker locs yet...thanks guys!
ReplyDeleteI used to obsess over the lint in my locks. I destroyed one lock and the obsession stopped there. I only have it in the locks in the back, last two rows. It's not that much and I noticed that it is only at the end of the lock and not all the way down the shaft of the lock. Try reassessing how much and where the lint is and maybe you can accept the lint over destroying your beautiful locks.
ReplyDeleteI personally like to use matching locks, but I don't know if that's why its not really good.
ReplyDeletedon't use a towel.....a pillow case will fix the lint problem
